Growing up in a small town in rural Ontario, Liv spent most of her childhood playing and working on her Poppa’s dairy farm, where her love for agriculture began to flourish. She was an active member in her local dairy 4H club, taking on executive roles, mentoring younger members and learning anything she could about showing cattle. Liv also spent a lot of time volunteering at her local agriculture fair, the Great Northern Exhibition, where she was honoured to hold the role of both Junior Ambassador in 2014 and then Senior Ambassador in 2018 of the Collingwood Agricultural Society. In these roles Liv attended numerous events and had an abundance of public speaking opportunities. With this experience Liv became a public speaking judge for the regional competitions held by the local public schools.
In 2024, Liv graduated from Dalhousie University Agriculture Campus with a Bachelor of Science - Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science. While attending Dal, she spent most of her free time as a varsity athlete for the Dal AC Woodsmen Team, where during her three years on the team, Liv and her teammates won two national titles. When it came to her education, Liv enrolled in courses that would give her the most diverse learning opportunities, including animal behaviour, horticulture therapy, organic chemistry, plant science, equine business management and animal nutrition specializing in ruminants. Liv was hired by Green Diamond Equipment out of University and took on the role of agricultural technology advisor for the Province of Nova Scotia, where she represents seven Green Diamond Equipment locations in her province, as well as providing support to her colleagues across the Maritimes.
Throughout her time at Green Diamond, Liv has had many amazing opportunities, including John Deere training in Orlando, spending time with various producers and now having the opportunity to present and talk about technology and its involvement in agriculture. When Liv is not on the road, traveling across Nova Scotia and the rest of the Maritimes, or sitting in a tractor cab, you may find her at the Dalhousie Agriculture Campus Woodlot where she is a coach of the Dal AC Loggersports Team or out on the ball diamond playing softball with some colleagues and friends.
Ayant grandi dans une petite ville rurale de l’Ontario, Liv a passé la majeure partie de son enfance à jouer et à travailler dans la ferme laitière de son grand-père, où son amour pour l’agriculture a commencé à se développer. Forte de cette expérience, Liv est devenue juge d’art oratoire pour les concours régionaux organisés par les écoles publiques locales. En 2024, Liv a obtenu une licence en sciences agricoles, avec une spécialisation en sciences animales, au campus agricole de l’Université Dalhousie. Pendant ses études à Dalhousie, elle a consacré la plupart de son temps libre à l’équipe universitaire d’athlétisme Dal AC Woodsmen, avec laquelle elle a remporté deux titres nationaux en trois ans. En ce qui concerne sa formation, Liv s’est inscrite à des cours qui lui offraient les possibilités d’apprentissage les plus variées, notamment le comportement animal, l’hortithérapie, la chimie organique, la science des plantes, la gestion d’une entreprise équine et la nutrition animale, avec une spécialisation dans les ruminants. Liv a été embauchée par Green Diamond Equipment à la sortie de l’université et a pris le poste de conseillère en technologie agricole pour la province de Nouvelle-Écosse, où elle représente sept sites de Green Diamond Equipment dans sa province, tout en apportant son soutien à ses collègues des Maritimes.
Tout au long de son parcours chez Green Diamond, Liv a eu de nombreuses opportunités incroyables, notamment une formation John Deere à Orlando, la possibilité de passer du temps avec divers producteurs et, aujourd’hui, l’opportunité de présenter et de parler de la technologie et de son implication dans l’agriculture. Lorsque Liv n’est pas sur la route, en déplacement à travers la Nouvelle-Écosse et le reste des Maritimes, ou assise dans la cabine d’un tracteur, vous la trouverez peut-être au Dalhousie Agriculture Campus Woodlot, où elle est entraîneuse de l’équipe Dal AC Loggersports, ou sur le terrain de baseball, en train de jouer au softball avec des collègues et des amis.
