Back To All

The Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA) highlights the upcoming Wintering Cattle in the Peace Seminar, hosted by the Peace Country Beef & Forage Association (PCBFA). This workshop is designed to help Alberta beef producers enhance herd health and manage livestock effectively amid the ongoing drought conditions in the Peace Region. This event is proudly sponsored by Farmers for Climate Solutions (FCS).

Industry experts will cover topics including disease risk mitigation through biosecurity measures, breeding management for heifers, cows and sires and reproductive techniques such as artificial insemination and pasture calving. The seminar will also address the nutritional needs of beef cattle and explore alternative cropping options and innovative grazing practices that have been tested in the region to extend grazing seasons and strengthen feed reserves.

Speakers include a licensed veterinarian from Emerson Trail Vet Services, Abby Redmond, Ruminant Nutritionist from Blue Rock Animal Nutrition and Dr. Blasius Azuhnwi.
