CFGA Conference 2025

The Canadian Forage and Grassland Association’s (CFGA) 2025 Annual Conference is heading to the Maritimes. The CFGA is working with the New Brunswick Soil and Crop Improvement Association (NBSCIA) to bring its 16th annual conference to the historic Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Nov. 18 to 21.

With the theme Greener Horizons: Technological Innovations in Forage and Grassland Management, this year’s conference will highlight the cutting-edge advancements shaping the future of sustainable agriculture. 

The CFGA conference has become the not-to-be-missed event for farmers, agronomists, researchers and industry leaders in the forage and grassland sectors. Whether you’re interested in precision agriculture, soil health, climate resilience or looking to explore new technologies in forage and grassland management, this conference offers valuable insights, networking opportunities and hands-on learning experiences.

What to expect at this year’s conference:

Pre-conference workshops (November 18)
The event kicks off on Nov. 18 with concurrent pre-conference workshops and seminars. The first one will focus on high-level discussion and collaboration around grassland sustainability efforts, including ongoing research into barriers and opportunities for growth current CFGA projects are encountering. This is a closed, invitation-only seminar, but those interested can reach Kaylee Healy at [email protected] to discuss potential participation.
 
The second workshop will focus on leadership in advanced grazing to equip experienced rotational grazers and grazing extension specialists with strategies, tools and applied expertise to help them drive sustainable land management and advanced rotational grazing practices through mentorship in their communities. The day will include an overview of what AGS is along with discussion on various skills grazing mentorships need and a high-level cell-design segment that integrates advanced considerations and concepts. Expert-led sessions (November 19 & 20)
Two full days will be dedicated to presentations by industry leaders speaking on the themes including smart tech and digital agriculture; pasture systems; grassland and pasture management; forage production and storage; and market trends. Attendees are sure to gain valuable knowledge from leading experts, researchers and agronomists. 
 
Post-conference farm tour (November 21)
A highlight of the CFGA conference is its post-conference tour which takes attendees to farms in the host province to provide on-the-ground exposure to agriculture in the host province. Tour details coming soon.

1 Day Conference Registration

Price: CA$275.00

This ticket is for 1 day conference access, meals included. Registrants select which day to attend and RSVP for dinners, workshops, and the post-conference tour during registration.

Student Ticket - Full Conference Registration

Price: CA$499.00

This ticket is for conference access at a student rate to both conference days, Day 1 and Day 2. Meals are included. MUST input current institution for ticket approval.

Student Ticket - 1 Day Conference Registration

Price:  CA$245.00

Ticket is for 1 day student-only conference access, meals included. Registrants to select which day during registration and RSVP for dinners, workshops, and the post-conference tour.

Grazing Workshop Only Registration

This ticket is for grazing workshop attendance only, for those who solely want to attend the Tuesday, November 18th workshop but not the CFGA conference.
Conference attendees should RSVP for the workshop during the conference ticket purchase process.
