Pasture Management Training 2026
Join the Saskatchewan Aboriginal Land Technicians (SALT) for a two-day Pasture Management Training workshop at Mistawasis. This hands-on event will bring together producers, land managers, technicians and industry partners to explore practical approaches to sustainable pasture and rangeland management.
Day 1 will focus on field-based learning, including bison ranching requirements, pasture and paddock management, grazing management planning and soil health. Participants will have the opportunity to tour local pasture sites and learn directly from producers and experts working in grazing management and ecosystem stewardship.
Day 2 will feature classroom presentations from a variety of organizations and partners, including the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM), Ducks Unlimited Canada, Indigenous Services Canada, Saskatchewan Agriculture and the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA). Discussions will cover funding opportunities, water management, conservation initiatives and tools to support sustainable land management.
This training provides an excellent opportunity to network with producers, land managers and industry professionals while gaining practical knowledge that can be applied on the land.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.
