Back To All

The University of Alberta is hosting a Grassland Learning and Knowledge Hub (GLKH) community gathering on Oct. 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the University of Alberta’s Augustana Campus in the Forum Café Stage Space.

The GLKH is a nation-wide multidisciplinary effort led by four major Canadian organizations: the University of Alberta (U of A), Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), the Restore Assert Defend (RAD) Network and the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA) in collaboration with several other individuals, groups and organizations concerned with grassland conservation.

The Hub aims to support grassland conservation by addressing natural climate solutions implementation and research gaps, analyzing barriers to reducing grassland conversion and promoting restoration, with a particular focus on policy and the social sciences.

This five-year project, which began in 2024, is part of a national initiative funded through Environment and Climate Change Canada’s Nature Smart Climate Solutions Fund. Its area of focus is the Canadian grasslands in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Learn about the work this knowledge hub is doing, meet some of the team members behind its operation and connect with others who share an interest in protecting and enhancing Canada’s grasslands.

Refreshments will be provided.
