The Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA) is proud to sponsor the upcoming 42nd Annual Canadian Bison Association (CBA) Convention, Show & Sale “Creating Our Future.” This premier event for bison producers, industry professionals and enthusiasts will be held from November 23 to 25, 2025, at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Regina, Saskatchewan. The convention offers an opportunity for attendees to network, learn about industry advancements and celebrate achievements within the bison sector. More information can be found on the CBA website.
Registration options include full-convention passes, which provide access to all sessions, coffee breaks, receptions, including the Sunday Taste Test and Monday Awards Banquet, three breakfasts and two lunches. Single-day registrations are also available, providing access to all sessions and activities for the selected day, along with the Monday Awards Banquet reception.
The convention program features keynote speakers such as FCC Deputy Chief Economist Des Sobool, Dr. Scott Wright and Jose Alcivar de Lucca from the University of Saskatchewan’s Livestock and Forage Centre of Excellence, Kallie Wood, CEO of the National Centre for Indigenous Agriculture and Food and entertainer QuickDick McDick. Breakout sessions will explore topics including intergenerational transfers, artificial intelligence in agriculture, genomics and herd health strategies. The event also includes the Awards Banquet on Monday evening and Agribition Day on Tuesday, featuring a Bison Judging Clinic and Bison Day Kick-Off.
A highlight of the convention is the Canadian National Bison Show and Sale, with entry deadlines for forms, animal information and veterinary details in the weeks leading up to the event. This year’s sale introduces a $500 cash bonus for both the Grand Champion Male and Female, as well as a High Placing Plains Bull category.
Attendees are encouraged to book accommodations at the DoubleTree by Hilton before November 6, 2025, either by phone or through the online booking portal. The CFGA encourages its members and followers to participate in this gathering to connect with peers, gain insights into bison production and celebrate the industry’s future.
