Wietze was born and raised in a city in the Netherlands with no farming background. He always wanted to dairy farm and immigrated to Canada after agriculture school at the age of 20. He bought a farm in Western New Brunswick in 1991, milking 50 cows and 250 acres, and, with his wife Natalie, slowly grew the farm to milking 170 cows and owning 1,000 acres. The Dykstras have three daughters and three grandchildren, two of whom are under six months.
Wietze est né et a grandi dans une ville des Pays-Bas sans aucun antécédent agricole. Il a toujours voulu exploiter une ferme laitière et a immigré au Canada à l’âge de 20 ans, après avoir suivi des études agricoles. Il a acheté une ferme dans l’ouest du Nouveau-Brunswick en 1991, avec 50 vaches laitières et 250 acres, et, avec sa femme Natalie, il a lentement développé la ferme pour atteindre 170 vaches laitières et 1 000 acres. Les Dykstra ont trois filles et trois petits-enfants, dont deux ont moins de six mois.
