This Canadian Agriculture Safety Week commit to #FarmSafetyEveryday

March 12 to 18 is Canadian Agriculture Safety Week and this year’s theme is Safety is Our Promise. It’s part of the three-year safety campaign “Your Farm, Your Family, Your Success.” Throughout this week, farmers, farm families, farm workers and farming communities are encouraged to show how they commit to #FarmSafetyEveryday. It’s a message the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association certainly believes!

Delivered by the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA), Canadian Agricultural Safety Week is an annual public initiative that raises awareness about the importance of farm safety. This year, organizers are focusing on practical safety advice and inspiring conversations about farm safety while highlighting the reasons safety is essential for the sustainability of farming operations.

Farm accidents can have devastating and far-reaching consequences, but, as Andrea Lear, CASA’s chief executive officer points out, many on-farm incidents are preventable.

“That’s why we want to ensure Canadian producers have the resources they need to keep their farms and ranches safe for everyone to live, work and visit,” says Lear. “CASA is once again looking forward to hosting conversations with individuals and organizations across the country as we work together towards a safer agricultural sector.”
