Back To All

Join us for a day of learning, networking and hands-on experience at the Range Health Field Day in Killdeer, Saskatchewan. This free event brings together ranchers, land managers and grassland enthusiasts to explore practical tools and techniques for maintaining healthy, productive native rangelands.

The day begins with presentations from experts representing the South of the Divide Conservation Action Program (SODCAP), Birds Canada, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture and the Saskatchewan Stock Growers Foundation. Topics will focus on practical approaches to range management that participants can take home and apply to their own operations.

Presentation topics include:

Range health assessments
Plant identification and plant communities
Soil stability and erosion
Litter evaluations
Habitat for grassland birds

Following lunch, participants will travel to Rising 7 Ranch for a guided field tour where they will have the opportunity to put their learning into practice. The field portion of the day will include hands-on demonstrations, plant identification, grazing management discussions and practical insights into pasture health in a native grassland setting.

Whether you’re looking to strengthen your understanding of range health, connect with fellow producers or learn from experienced professionals working across Saskatchewan’s grasslands, this field day offers valuable information and practical takeaways for every operation.

Attendance is free and lunch is provided. Bring a neighbour and join us for a day of learning in the field
