Speaker: Kassidy Matheson, Prince Edward Island Watershed Alliance

Description: Join the Prince Edward Island Watershed Alliance (PEIWA) to learn about their restoration work on PEI, a close-knit island community in the Wabanaki-Acadian Forest Region. Their mission centers on supporting a mosaic of 25 watershed groups across the island whose work ranges from shoreline protection, stream enhancement to forestry work. Kassidy Matheson, the PEIWA 2 Billion Trees Coordinator, will be the presenter and she will include information on the current work of the PEIWA 2 Billion Trees program. Participants will gain knowledge on how best practices are employed to advance afforestation goals, enhance local biodiversity, and bolster ecosystem resilience.
