Join BC Forage Council’s upcoming Pasture Assessment Workshop, happening in the Vernon area on Wednesday, August 9th from 10:30 a.m. to 3p.m. - an opportunity to focus on how monitoring is related to Advanced Grazing Systems. (See attached poster)
It has been a challenging year across the province, with reports of forage yield deficits coming from almost all regions of the province (worse in dryland production areas). We know there are difficult decisions to be made, and it’s important to have the right information and tools to make those decisions.
This FREE workshop will introduce producers to: Plant ID, Pasture Assessments, how to use the Grazing Response Index, discuss soil measurements in relation to water, and more! Spend the day with our provincial Grazing Mentors and get your questions answered on the spot.
Registration is required and lunch will be provided. Event location & directions will be provided to registrants before the event.
Bonus: Farmers can sign up for a farm visit the following day (Aug 10) with a Grazing Mentor. Same registration form as above. Spots are limited (including some geographic limitations), filled first come first serve.
Funding for this event is provided in part by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada through the On-Farm Climate Action Fund and Farmers for Climate Solutions, delivered in partnership between the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association and BC Forage Council.
