The Canadian Forage and Grassland Association (CFGA) is pleased to be hosting a Young Farmer Forum luncheon at its 15th annual conference in Guelph, Ontario, Dec. 3 to 6. This forum is being held to foster dialogue among young farmers and ranchers about the challenges they face, the strategies they’re implementing and the solutions they’re calling for.
The CFGA recognizes that young farmers need support and is looking at its programming to further support this demographic. While in the visioning stage, the CFGA is gathering information by listening directly to young farmers and the broader agriculture network to identify their challenges and the strategies and solutions they need. Results of these discussions will have a direct effect on the type of programming and resources the CFGA will offer to young farmers in the coming years.
This workshop will consist of facilitated conversation in small groups, culminating in a larger roundtable discussion for sharing salient points and identifying common themes. The workshop will be an inviting space to make connections with peers, broaden our vision and build a more unified community.
Who is this for?
This luncheon is for anyone under 40 years of age who works in or adjacent to grasslands, forage production or grazing.
